Playa de Las Americas Tenerife is large resort situated only ten minutes from the main airport of Tenerife and next to the Los Cristianos resort.
Playa de las Americas is a large resort which traditionally was associated with 18 – 30 Veronicas night club strip and low budget accommodation .
This area still exists , however there are now numerous locations in Playa de las Americas that home to some excellent five star hotels and new shopping centres , bars and restaurants.
On the coast just next to Los Cristianos is the famous Mare Nostrum strip , this is home to the Sir Anthony, Julio Ceaser , Marco Antonio , Cleopatra Palace , Mediterranean Palace and the five star Gran Lux Villa Cortes .
Amongst the hotels there is an outstanding strip of quality shops , bars and restaurants with the Piramedes offering flamenco dancing and shows by Carmen Moto .
Try Harry’s Bar and the Biancos Italian restaurant , for an oriental theme the new Tapenyakki restaurant is great.
Further down the coast but still in Playa De Las Americas you will come to the “Patch area” , known amongst the locals, it is an old area with lots of bars and restaurants , but distinctly down market compared to the Mare Nostrum stretch. You have the H10 Las Palmeras hotel , La Siesta Hotel and numerous other self catering aparthotels.
Within walking distance again slightly further down the coast but still in Las Americas is the famous Veronicas strip. Ideal for youngsters but certainly in need of modernization or knocking down.
Walking further down the Las Americas coast will bring you towards the Iberostar Bouganville playa and eventually the resort of Torviscas Playa and Puerto colon.
Playa de Las Americas basically has something for every age and budget !
