Los Roques - Review
|
|

When a friend of mine told me about a really nice restaurant called Los Roques in Los Abrigos I was a bit sceptical as most of the restaurants I know there are typical family run fish restaurants and I’m not a great fish lover.
I was told that it had spectacular views right on the seafront and decorated to a very high standard and since my wife is a bit picky with where she eats, I had to give it a try.
My friend wasn’t wrong about the views or the decor as the first impressions were style.
I’m glad we arrived early because we were able to choose a lovely table on the terrace looking out to sea and the sky in the makings of a spectacular sunset. Soft lit candles gave a relaxing glow to the place and just sitting on proper soft cushioned dining chairs made all the difference.
At first glance at the menu I noticed a lot of seafood but that was more for the starters rather than the main courses. In fact, it’s a shame I don’t eat seafood as the sound of Citrus Crusted Scallops and Lobster and Ginger Bisque is really mouth watering!
My wife does like the occasional seafood so decided to try the Tartar of Salmon but I played safe and went for the Carpaccio of Duck Breast. For the main course we had the Grilled Fillet Steak and the Supreme of Chicken but I must admit I wished I had tried the Filet of Ostrich as there aren’t many places where you can get such delicacies on the menu.
Still I wasn’t disappointed with my choice because the food was exquisite! The presentation was a work of art and the individual tastes on your tongue left you with wanting more. The Steak was perfectly cooked and succulent and the chicken had an individual taste that I had never tasted before but it definitely scored top points!
Not only was the food great but the service was always with a smile and with the knowledge of good food and wine. We left very satisfied not just because of the food but because we had found a restaurant with class not just for that special occasion but for whenever we feel like pampering ourselves, which I’m sure will be more often now that we have discovered Los Roques.
Like a friend told me, I am now telling you, there is this really nice stylish little restaurant in Los Abrigos called Los Roques…………
